Late in the third quarter against the Dallas Cowboys, Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers' offense attempted to save Frank Reich's job.
Young and the offense put together a 17-play, 70-yard drive that involved three fourth-down conversions to pull the Panthers within one score of the all-imposing Cowboys.
What put the drive into motion was on fourth-and-7, the Cowboys' defense ran into the kicker, making it a fourth-and-2. Young then completed a short pass to veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen on fourth down, giving the Panthers life.
Then, with the ball on the Cowboys' 28-yard-line, Young, again, found Thielen on a short pass to give the Panthers another first down on fourth-and-3.
The last fourth-down conversion came on fourth-and-1 from the Cowboys' 16-yard-line. Miles Sanders ran up the middle and gave the Panthers a fresh set of downs. Each of these clutch plays led to a four-yard touchdown pass by Young to tight end Tommy Tremble, bringing the game to 17-10 heading into the fourth quarter.
Dallas would answer with a touchdown drive early in the fourth quarter. But the Panthers' offense could celebrate a decent drive for at least a few moments. It looked as though Young and company were at least trying to save Reich's job.
