The Carolina Panthers liked what they saw from Troy Hill during the 2023 season.

Veteran cornerback Troy Hill plans to sign a one-year deal to remain in Charlotte, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reported Monday

Hill, 32, joined the Panthers in August 2023 and appeared in 16 games, starting three.

Hill recorded 48 total tackles, one interception and one forced fumble.

He appeared on the field for 47 percent of the Panthers' snaps.

Hill worked with the Panthers' defensive coordinator, Ejiro Evero when he was with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Panthers brought in a new head coach, Dave Canales, in early 2024.

Canales held on to Evero to command the defense. In a 2-15 season, the Panthers defense was the sole bright spot.

With Hill returning, Dan Morgan liked what he saw – at least for now.

Hill has previously played for the Rams, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals.

Hill has recorded nine interceptions in 113 games with 58 starts, with three returned for a touchdown.

The contract details haven't been released yet. But Hill is returning for another season in Charlotte.
