The roster shake-up for the Dan Morgan and Carolina Panthers only continues.
Carolina is set to trade or release Donte Jackson, who has been with the team since the 2018 NFL season, ESPN's senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler reported Monday.
Jackson has a $4 million roster bonus due March 16, meaning the Panthers are likely to make their decision on his future relatively quickly.
If the Panthers choose to cut Jackson, the team would save around $5.9 million.
During his six-year career, he has recorded 303 total tackles. He also has 14 interceptions and one touchdown.
2024 would mark the final campaign of the three-year, $35.1 million deal Jackson signed with the Panthers.
Despite his contributions, the Panthers are in an offseason of reinvention. For Morgan and the brain trust, that means out with the old and in with the new.
