Being a top-100 selection would conventionally garner some fanfare. That hasn't necessarily been the case for third-round pick, linebacker Trevin Wallace.

In recent weeks, he has stepped into his own, claiming an interception against Aaron Rodgers at a joint practice against the New York Jets Thursday, playing well on Saturday, and scoring another interception in practice Tuesday

For all the work Wallace has put in, Canales is rather impressed

"I think he's just a natural football player first and foremost," Canales said. "He's big, and he's fast, and he's got great hands. And that's such a rare combination at the inside linebacker spot. He's got great eyes with his QB's intentions and finishing on the ball."

Wallace was always seen as a bit of a project at the linebacker position. That, fundamentally, hasn't changed.

However, he has earned some praise from his head coach, who knows that the talent Wallace possesses could make him a special player a few years down the line.
