Life is cheap for the Carolina Panthers.
After continued underperformance, team owner David Tepper fired Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer Monday morning.
It was a move that was expected after the Panthers finished 2-15, but it also elicited responses from around the NFL. One of those responses came from former Panthers star wide receiver DJ Moore, who used it as an opportunity to take one final dig at the Panthers' situation.
"I might’ve played a part in that since they traded me," Moore said on 670 The Score. "Hope he lands on his feet.”
Moore was drafted by the Panthers in 2018. However, that was under the tenure of former Panthers general manager Marty Hurney.
Fitterer traded him to the Chicago Bears for the No. 1 overall pick, who became Bryce Young.

It was a move that garnered praise at the time. But as the Panthers' season wore on, it proved to be the team's downfall.
Young looked shaky at best. Meanwhile, Moore put together a solid season in Chicago.
Moore ended the year with career highs in receptions (96), yards (1,364) and touchdowns (8).
On the other hand, the gamble on Young looked pitiful from Fitterer, as the rookie signal caller ranked near the bottom of the league in nearly every quarterback counting stat.
Now, the former Panthers star is also getting the last laugh as Fitterer is sent packing and Carolina's dysfunction continues.
D.J. Moore takes unnecessary shot at Panthers after Week 17 result
After getting shut out Sunday by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Carolina Panthers assured their draft pick would be No. 1 come the 2024 NFL Draft.
