The Carolina Panthers (0-1) are playing football Friday night against the New York Giants after laying a dud last weekend against the New York Jets.

The Giants, the Panthers' foe, are coming in also hoping to bounce back after dropping their last preseason game to the Detroit Lions 21-16.

Is the offensive line any better for Bryce Young?

Much has been made of the Carolina Panthers offensive line struggles. In the first preseason game of the season, their play was so bad that it required an after-game meeting to attempt to correct the current course of action. Playing the Giants will be the team's first opportunity to show that it has learned from its mistakes a week ago. And by the nature of the game, if the offensive line is playing better, Bryce Young will have an opportunity to show the type of quarterback he can be.

Three things to watch in Panthers-Giants

  • Do the Panthers see a different Bryce Young? There is no doubt in the world, Bryce Young is a better quarterback than he showed in the first game of his NFL career. He completed four passes and his offense didn't score a single point. Some of that blame fell on the shoulders of the offensive line, but Young also took a good portion of the blame when it came to not playing well. With an offensive line refocused on playing impactful football, Young will have to show that he has learned from the mistakes he made last Saturday,
  • What does Matt Corral look like? After playing in his first game in nearly a year, Matt Corral looked like a solid quarterback in his time playing during the Panthers-Jets game. He even explained that there are aspects of his game he wants to work on moving forward. So, against the Giants, it is time to see if Corral can back up the way he played a week ago. He will have a chance to prove himself as he vyes for the No. 2 quarterback spot on the team.
  • Who is the second running back on the roster? Panthers head coach Frank Reich explained that Miles Sanders will mostly likely miss the rest of the NFL preseason with a groin injury. Now, against the Giants, the Panthers have an opportunity to find who will be the team's second running back.  So players like Chuba HubbardRaheem Blackshear, and Spencer Brown will all take snaps while playing the Giants.
