There haven't been several instances where Bryce Young has shown traits that make him the franchise quarterback in games.

Then he had a moment against the Green Bay Packers, and Carolina Panthers interim head coach Chris Tabor believes it highlighted the exact traits that Young possesses, giving him an advantage over his peers.

"His work ethic is outstanding, and that hasn’t changed,” Tabor said. "The guy stays late and watches a lot of film. He has all the things you see older quarterbacks have. You’re seeing a lot of those intangibles. I see it in practice when he commands the huddle. And he’s just gonna continue to get better and better as he goes through these experiences."

Young's rookie season has been a mixed bag.

To start the season, there were questions about whether he should remain the starter after his poor start.

Then, midway through the early portion of the schedule, there was some success. He moved the ball well against the Miami Dolphins and was efficient in the second half of several contests. He also beat his rookie rival, C.J. Stroud.

But then the regression struck, head coach Frank Reich was fired. David Tepper held a weird press conference where he half-heartedly committed the team to Young in the future. And the Panthers are letting the 2023 season be a complete wash.

Now, Young has enjoyed his breakout moment. He threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns. His 110 quarterback rating was a season high. And finally, Panthers fans saw what they hoped the No. 1 overall pick would look like all season.

The question becomes: Will it last?

Tabor, and the rest of the Panthers franchise, would like to believe so.
