And in a Carolina Panthers team talent contest, Young was still shocking veterans.
On Wednesday, during the talent show, Young sang Keyshia Cole and Young's performance blew away Panthers veteran linebacker Shaq Thompson.
"He got up there and killed it," Thompson said, per ESPN's David Newton. "It shocked us; he had so much personality. … That was a whole different Bryce. It was good to see."
It may not be football, but this is another example of Young embracing the pressure that comes with being the face of the franchise. His personality appears to be endearing and his aura is infectious.
It's why it didn't take long for Panthers head coach Frank Reich to label him the starting quarterback of the future.
Teamteas are comfortable with Young. They have talked extensively about his personality, and specifically his smile, playing a defining factor in who the quarterback is as a person.
When newly-minted Panthers running back Miles Sanders arrived at training camp, he described Young as smart — attributing his maturity to his time spent at Alabama.
"That boy is sharp, man," Sanders said. "I played with another Alabama quarterback in Philly, and all I can say is that them boys are sharp. I'm excited to see what he can do this year.
"If you're a dog, you're a dog."
And it turns out Young is a dog when it comes to singing too.
