Bryce Young needs wide receiver help.

That is why the Carolina Panthers prioritized the position during the early days of free agency, trading for Diontae Johnson – a former 1,000-yard pass catcher from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Come the 2024 NFL Draft, Carolina will undoubtedly seek another talented pass catcher to pair with Johnson, Adam Thielen and Jonathan Mingo. The Athletic's latest mock draft has the Panthers lucking out with one of the speediest wide receivers available in the second round – Xavier Worthy.

Worthy won the title of fastest wide receiver in the class with a 40-yard time of 4.21.

Though he is only 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, his rare speed makes him a day-one contributor inside Dave Canales' offense.

The Athletic writes:

"For all the flash of his blazing speed, Worthy has blue-collar work ethic. Texas coaches told The Athletic that he was the best practice player they’ve had. He really couldn’t track the ball well as a sophomore, but worked very hard to improve as he’s continued to become a more complete player."

During Worthy's 2023 season, he caught 75 passes for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns. In every way, he was electric.

In a Panthers uniform, he would immediately give the offense a player who isn't gradable.
