The Carolina Panthers are one step closer to finding out who the next general manager will be.

On Saturday, Tom Pelissero, an NFL Network insider, reported that the Panthers have at least three names in the running for general manager following a week of interviews.

The names on the list are New York Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown, Philadelphia Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby and Panthers assistant general manager Dan Morgan.

The Panthers have gone about the search for the next general manager rather quietly.

Compared to the head coach search, with which the Panthers give seemingly daily updates, the search for a general manager is happening behind closed doors.

It is better that way. After years of making public and wrong decisions, it appears that David Tepper has finally learned from prior mistakes.
