Wide receiver isn't the only concern of the Carolina Panthers.

The front office is looking for a utility running back that can add a wrinkle to the new-look Dave Canales offense.

Florida State running back Trey Benson is an option the front office can't pass up.

Though the Panthers have Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders, the former is in the last year of his contract. and the latter is overpaid and underperforms.

Drafting Benson could infuse the Panthers' running back room with young rushing talent, and with the Florida State product projected to be a third or fourth-round draft pick, he may be worth taking a flyer on.

At 6-foot, 216 pounds, Benson has good size. In his last season in college, he ran for 906 yards and collected 14 touchdowns.

He was a two-year starter and earned 2022 and 2023 second-team All-ACC honors.

Benson isn't a perfect running back, but he's a tough, explosive runner who continues to improve his vision and has useful pass-catching traits. That is guaranteed success at the NFL level.
