Wide receiver isn't the only position the Carolina Panthers want to upgrade in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Tight end is a spot on the roster that desperately needs some love as well.

As it turns out, the Panthers front office knows that already. University of Texas tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders is scheduled to have a pre-draft visit with the Panthers and the Cleveland Browns this week, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Tuesday morning

Sanders is widely believed to be a second-round pick, which places him right in the wheelhouse of the Panthers – a team that doesn't make its selection until No. 33.

Sanders was a starter at Texas for the last two seasons. In that stretch, he collected 99 catches for 1,295 yards and seven touchdowns.

In the NFL, he projects to be a threat in the passing game, which is exactly what the Panthers need for second-year quarterback Bryce Young.

The Panthers have Tommy Tremble and Ian Thomas at the top of the position depth chart.

Tremble during the 2023 season had 194 receiving yards and 23 catches. Meanwhile, Thomas had five catches for 56 yards.
