After dropping to 0-5 on the season, the Carolina Panthers are in desperate need of some help.

In the past two weeks, reports began swirling that the Panthers were in the trade market for a receiver — looking at players like the Denver Broncos' receiver Jerry Jeudy.

However, on Sunday, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones said the Panthers are turning away from the idea of trading more draft capital for a high-end receiver.

"Despite reports last week the Panthers would be active in the trade market, sources tell CBS Sports the Panthers have little to no interest in trading legitimate draft capital away," Jones writes. "Carolina doesn't have its first-round pick in 2024 and only owns its second-round pick next year. Winless teams rarely make deals for players at the deadline, and a source said it'd have to be a "phenomenal" offer for Carolina to consider a deal at all."

The Panthers have been in no man's land since trading their No. 1 receiver, DJ Moore, to draft Bryce Young.

Without a top receiver, Young's favorite target has been Adam Thielen, who, against the Lions on Sunday, caught 11 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.

There were glimpses of what Young could be with a reliable wide receiver, the rookie quarterback threw for three touchdowns on 25 completions.

If the Panthers aren't willing to trade top draft capital, all signs point to a possible Brian Burns trade.

The two sides —  Burns and the Panthers — haven't worked out a long-term contract as the trade deadline quickly approaches. The Panthers will either franchise tag him or trade him.

Could it be that the Panthers look to trade Burns for a wide receiver that makes a difference for Young? Maybe so.
