After news broke regarding Jeremy Chinn's quad injury, it was believed that his trade market dried up.

But ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that several teams are still calling the Carolina Panthers inquiring about the safety, who is in the last year of his contract.

Fowler reported Chinn desperately wants to play, something he hasn't done much of to this point in the season for Carolina.

"Chinn suffered a quad injury that could complicate his trade market should the Panthers choose to try and move him, but it doesn't preclude a deal from getting done," Fowler writes. "He'll be back before the end of the season off an injury that ESPN's Adam Schefter reports will take up to six weeks to heal. The injury is non-surgical, and Chinn is considered a fast healer.

"There's interest in Chinn, who is in a contract year and only played 28 snaps the past two weeks. He wants to play."

The 2023 season hasn't gone according to plan for Chinn. He's seen a dramatic decrease in the number of snaps he's on the field for. The Panthers' coaching staff has explained it away as merely part of the defensive scheme and the role they have placed him in for the season.

Still, that clearly hasn't gone the way Chinn hoped. As the trade deadline nears (Oct. 31), he is looking to move to a situation that would allow him to be on the field more, and the Panthers are open to taking calls inquiring about his services.
