The Carolina Panthers' defense just took a major hit in the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Former 2021 first-round draft pick Jaycee Horn suffered a non-contact injury while running just ahead of the two-minute warning in the first half. He crumpled on the field, grabbing his left leg before he eventually hobbled to the medical tent on the sideline.

The 23-year-old was quickly ruled doubtful to return to the game with a hamstring injury.

Horn has seen a lengthy history of injuries during his NFL career so far. As a rookie, he suffered a foot injury that landed him on injured reserve. Last season Horn suffered a midseason chest injury. He also dealt with an ankle sprain during the offseason this year.

Horn just can't seem to catch a break as far as his health is concerned. Hopefully, the injury isn't as bad as it appeared.

With Horn unlikely to return to the game, look for Troy Hill and CJ Henderson to see increased repetitions against the Falcons as Week 1 continues.
