The Carolina Panthers' offense is about to get a big boost as wide receiver Adam Thielen has been activated from injured reserve, per a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

This is particularly good for quarterback Bryce Young, who finally has some momentum going his way after winning back-to-back games for the first time in his NFL career. Young has managed Carolina's offense well during that span, throwing for 297 yards and two touchdowns while adding 39 yards rushing.

Those aren't world-beater numbers by any means, but it at least gives the Panthers a chance to be competitive. Led by Chuba Hubbard, who ranks third in the NFL in rushing yards with 818, Young has a great running game to lean on. Now, Thielen will provide him with another much-needed pass catching option.

Thielen injured his hamstring while making a 31-yard touchdown catch back in Week 3, costing him seven games. He is a master route runner with sure hands and good yards after the catch ability. In 2023 with Carolina, Thielen caught 103 passes for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns, his most productive year since 2018.

His return comes at a crucial time as the Panthers will travel to Kansas City to take on the undefeated Chiefs following their bye week. While it doesn't really increase their chances of pulling an upset over Kansas City, Thielen's return will allow the Panthers to have a bit more success against a tough Chiefs defense.

It also provides the opportunity for Young to finish the year strong and show that he can be Carolina's franchise quarterback.
