If the Carolina Panthers had a mulligan, C.J. Stroud would be in Charlotte, not Bryce Young.

The Panthers may try and spin it, attempting to convince others that Young would still be the clear-cut No. 1 quarterback. But that is not reality.

Stroud is miles better than Young, and a recent CBS Sports 2023 NFL re-draft shows the Panthers made a grave mistake trading everything to select the little quarterback out of Alabama.

"The Panthers correct their mistake with Stroud over Bryce Young in this re-draft," writes Chris Trapasso. "If this re-draft occurred, this pick would be made in a split second."

Stroud being better than Young is no secret. The current Houston Texan threw for a little over 4,000 yards and 23 touchdowns to five interceptions.

Young, meanwhile, put together a putrid 2,877 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

What is shocking is CBS Sports' re-draft has Young falling completely out of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Some may call it an overreaction. However, I think it is accurate. No team needing a quarterback in the first round of the 2023 draft could realistically take Young, knowing how poor his skills would translate to the pros.

There were red flags for Young coming out of college, namely his size. It was his intangibles that were set to put him over the top. During his rookie season, those intangibles didn't translate either.

If the Panthers could go back in time, the franchise would probably do everything differently.
