It's a moment only Holywood writers could conjure up.

Sam Franklin Jr., thrust into the starting lineup because Xavier Woods was dealing with a hamstring injury, nabbed his first career pick-6 in his first career start. Forget Rudy, everyone needs to watch the Carolina Panthers.

After giving up a big play because neither he nor CJ Henderson could turn around, Franklin, on third-and-goal, picked off Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and returned it to the house 99 yards.

Here is a look at the movie-like play.

It was the first pick-six for the Panthers since a matchup with the LA Rams in 2022. And it registered as the longest pick-six in team history. Franklin casually bumped Julius Peppers (97-yarder at Denver in 2004) from the top spot.

So, after three weeks of nothing to celebrate, Franklin has now at least given the Panthers a glimmer of hope early.
