The Chicago Bears are looking more and more like roster that is capable of contending for an NFC North title in 2023. The key to contention for Chicago will be in Justin Fields’ development as a passer.
Fields showed flashes last season with his unique arm talent coupled with his generational athleticism. But for the Bears to truly reach their full potential Fields must become a consistent and reliable passer.
Adding weapons such as WR D.J. Moore and TE Robert Tonyan will absolutely aid him in the passing game. Chicago also added RG Nate Davis in free agency and many draft experts believe the Bears will select an offensive tackle in the first round to bolster his protection.
Though his supporting cast has improved, Fields is taking it upon himself to up his game this offseason. Daniel Greenberg reports that Fields has been putting in work down in Florida with highly respected “QB wizard” Oliver Bozeman.
Bozeman has worked with the likes of Michael Vick and Teddy Bridgewater. Founder of the Bozeman Academy, Bozeman specializes in his teachings of the fundamentals and techniques of the quarterback position.
Fields’ work ethic is exactly what teams look for in a franchise quarterback. While working with Bozeman doesn’t guarantee Fields makes an All-Pro leap, it’s fantastic to see him making an effort to hone his craft.
