The Chicago Bears enter a new era on Monday for the team’s first official day of the offseason program. Not only does it kick off the team’s offseason activities, but it also marks Kevin Warren’s first day as team president and CEO.

Warren was hired in January as the franchise’s fifth president in its 104-year history. The difference between Warren and the previous four owners is that he is the only president to bring legitimate football experience into the position.

  • George Halas – Founder & Owner
  • George Halas Jr. – Owner’s son
  • Michael McCaskey – Owner’s grandson
  • Ted Phillips – Accountant

Warren served as the Big-10’s commissioner from 2020-2023, but has over 20 years of NFL experience serving in different administrative roles with the Rams and Vikings.

The Bears have an opportunity to make some major noise under Warren’s guidance. Not only on the field, but perhaps off of it as well. The team continues to explore building a new stadium in the near future, which happens to be an area of expertise for Warren.

Warren played a key role helping the Vikings build US Bank Stadium. Bears fans remain hopeful in a potential move to Arlington, but it’s not typically a process that moves forward at a quick rate.

It might not feel like it after the pitfalls of seasons past, but it is an exciting time to be a Bears fan. The front office is moving aggressively in free agency and with other player personnel decisions while the team’s brass is finally in a place to make a significant contribution to the on-field product.

There’s a real chance that Bears fans look back to this hire as one of the most positive changes in franchise history. A new journey begins on Monday in Halas Hall. One that Bears fans can only hope leads down the path to a Super Bowl.
