Reed grew up in Aurora, Illinois, where he played his high school ball at Metea Valley High School before transferring to Naperville Central High School prior to his senior season.

Reed began his college career at Western Michigan earning freshman All-American honors with 56 receptions for 797 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

When he arrived at Michigan State, he continued to provide a spark in the passing game, but really stood out as one of the Big 10’s most electrifying return specialists.

In 2021, Reed returned two punts for touchdowns with an average of 21.6 yards per return on 11 attempts. He also recorded 1,026 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in his redshirt junior year in East Lansing.

He also returned 42 kickoffs during his college career, which could set him apart from other receivers in his draft class.

Reed’s stands at six feet tall and can play in the slot and on the outside. Not only does he possess unique speed, but he is able to track the ball well through the air. He has great body control, which contributes to his ability to make catches in traffic.

The early returns on Velus Jones Jr. were disappointing for the Bears, but Reed could be the answer to Chicago’s problems. He projects as a mid-round selection and could hear his name called late on Day Two or early on Day Three.
