There's a long way to go before the 2024 NFL Draft takes place, but it's never too early to take a look at where certain players are projected to be drafted.
Draft opinions will obviously change a lot between now and next spring, but it's always fun to see how players are viewed before and after their final college football season.
The latest mock draft from Pro Football Network has the Chicago Bears landing a premier player with the draft pick they acquired from the Carolina Panthers earlier this offseason (via the trade for the No. 1 overall pick).
Pro Football Network is predicting that Chicago will have the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft (via the draft pick from the Panthers).
And with the fourth pick, PFN has the Bears selecting Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
From PFN: Finishing with a worse record than they did last year despite adding the 2023 No. 1 overall pick and a new coaching staff would be far from ideal for Carolina. However, the Bears won’t complain about the result of the trade that landed them this pick in their trade down from this past draft.
Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is worth every bit of hype imaginable. He has elite size, catch radius, play strength, and polish. The NFL is loaded with young, talented playmakers, but we haven’t seen someone of Harrison’s pedigree since Julio Jones.
Harrison, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, looked like the best wide receiver in college football in 2022. He has elite body control, he can make defenders miss in the open field, contested catches are no issue, and he has great hands. Essentially, Harrison is the total package.
If this scenario turns out to be a reality, it would be massive for Justin Fields and the Bears. Pairing Harrison with wide receiver DJ Moore would give Chicago one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. And it would certainly set Fields up for success.
