The Chicago Bears continue to make moves in the first week of the NFL’s free agency period.

The Bears latest signing comes in the form of DT Andrew Billings. Chicago inked Billings to a one-year deal worth $3.5 million, including $2.4 million fully guaranteed, per his agency SportsTrust Advisors.

Billings, 28, is a six-foot-1 328-pound run stopping machine. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He’s played five seasons in the NFL with stops in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Las Vegas.

In 2022, Billings played in 14 games with the Raiders and registered a career-high 39 tackles. He added one sack, three tackles for loss and three quarterback hits.

He’s a nice addition to the Bears’ defensive front and will likely serve as a key depth piece in 2023. Chicago still has plenty of work to do in order to bolster its pass rush, but signing Billings satisfies depth on the interior.
