The Chicago Bears have seen plenty of new faces come and go over the course of the 2023 offseason. As the dust is settling from the NFL draft, one former Bear found a new home with a Super Bowl contender.

On Wednesday, the Cincinnati Bengals inked former Bears quarterback Trevor Siemian to a one-year deal.

Chicago signed the journeyman backup quarterback to a two-year contract in 2022. However, Siemian played in just two games during his only season with the Bears. His lone start of the year came in Week 12 against the New York Jets as Justin Fields was sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

Interestingly enough, Siemian injured his oblique in pregame warmups against the Jets. He toughed it out completing 14-of-25 passes for 179 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Unfortunately for Siemian, the injury required season-ending surgery just one week later.

In Cincinnati, Siemian will join a quarterback room featuring Joe Burrow and Jake Browning. Siemian enters the Bengals' offseason program as the favorite to land the backup job.
