Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney sent a strong message to fans this week.

Mooney, who missed five games in 2022 due to an ankle injury, is feeling confident that the Bears are about to turn things around in a big way.

The former Tulane standout told GN Sports TV this week that he's tired of losing and Bears fans need to "get ready to win".

The Bears went 3-14 last season in Matt Eberflus' first year as the franchise's head coach.

Chicago's record in 2022, however, wasn't necessarily as bad as it looked. The 2022 season was always going to be a rebuilding year for the Bears. And despite only winning three games, there were a lot of good things that Chicago fans were able to take away from Eberflus' first season.

For starters, quarterback Justin Fields looks like he has legitimate franchise quarterback potential. Fields showed last season that he can be electric with his legs while delivering one of the best deep balls in the league.

Something else that stood out last season is how hard the Bears played under Eberflus. Chicago might have lost 14 games last season, but they weren't a fun team to play. The Bears left it all on the field on a weekly basis even though they knew early in the season that the playoffs were unlikely.

Chicago's improved roster — landing wide receiver DJ Moore from the Carolina Panthers might have been the best move of the NFL offseason — should yield positive results for the Bears.

Mooney's message to Chicago fans is clear — don't be surprised when the Bears start winning more games than they lose. This is a franchise that's clearly moving in the right direction. And anyone sleeping on them in 2023 is going to be in for a rude awakening when they look up in November and the Bears are relevant in the playoff picture.
