Most NFL analysts aren't giving the Chicago Bears much of a chance to win the NFC North.
Instead, they're expecting the Minnesota Vikings or the Detroit Lions to win the division.
It's not that analysts are down on the Bears, it's just that they think Chicago is still a year away from completing their rebuild and competing for a playoff spot.
Bears general manager Ryan Poles doesn't share that same line of thinking. He knows Chicago's roster still has a ways to go before the team is ready to compete for a Super Bowl, but he's still aiming to win the division in 2023.
In fact, Poles recently told The Athletic that he thinks the Bears can win the NFC North this season.
Part of the reason Poles feels that way is because of the "different vibe" in Chicago's locker room.
“It’s not even close,” said Poles of the Vibe around the Bears. “This is a different group; practice, meetings, the weight room. I feel like a family is starting to come together, even with the rookie class just showing up this past week. There’s just a different feeling.”
The Cincinnati Bengals went from four wins in 2020 to the Super Bowl in 2021. Could the Bears make a similar jump after a three-win season in 2022?
It's probably not likely — those types of turnarounds don't happen often — but Poles and the Bears are clearly committed to doing all they can to have a special season in 2023. And fans have to love that type of attitude from Chicago's front office.
