Justin Fields is not getting enough respect.

I know what you're thinking. Why would he earn praise after piloting his team to the worst record in the NFL? Fields took several steps forward in 2022, regardless of how the team around him performed.

And at least one NFC North foe seems to recognize that Fields is better than people think.

Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, one of the most talented receivers in the league, recently appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and gave Fields a shoutout.

Jefferson went as far as to call Fields a "dominant quarterback," and acknowledged that Fields puts pressure on the other NFC North teams.

In my opinion, this quote speaks volumes. It doesn't matter what the media or fans think of Fields, because his peers view him completely differently. Jefferson has spent his entire career with Kirk Cousins, who has been the pinnacle of consistency since 2020.

Compared to Cousins, Fields' numbers are nothing special. But Fields has never had a Jefferson-level talent to throw to or an offensive line as good as Minnesota's. With one of the least-talented receiver rooms and offensive lines in 2022, Fields' performance looks a little more impressive.

It will be interesting to see if Fields can prove Jefferson right in 2023. Can Fields improve enough to make the Bears a sneaky playoff contender this season?
