One of the best things about Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles is his candid honesty. He isn't afraid to speak his mind and give people transparency and truth in a professional manner.

That's why his recent response to what Robert Griffin III said about the job he's done/doing as general manager of one of the NFL's most historic franchises came as no surprise.

"It pisses me off, a little bit, to be honest with you," Poles said Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show. "Because we were hired to break a cycle. The same thing when I was in Kansas City – Coach Reid [and] all of us were brought in to break a cycle. And we did. And no one talks about those days, anymore. It's all about what they are, right now.

"I really believe we are about to break this cycle and get this city in a really good situation and win a lot of games. So the past is the past – I don't worry about that, at all. It's about where we're going."

Poles' response covers exactly what we wrote when RGIII first spouted his nonsense. In case you missed the rant, just put it this way: RGIII's last point, the one that is supposed to be the final nail in the proverbial coffin, is the Washington Commanders are a better spot than the Bears, right now.

Laughable, I know.

Poles has every right to be pissed, and not even "a little bit" like he said. Sure, the Bears are still picking at No. 9 overall as he enters his third offseason as GM, but the roster is night and day compared to what it was in 2022 and he is responsible for turnaround. That also includes the ingenious decision to trade the No. 1 pick, last year, just to receive another No. 1 overall pick, this year.

At the end of the day, it really seems like RGIII's rant was more for engagement purposes, than anything. Which is pretty lame for a guy who doesn't need to spout BS in order to get attention. His platform is already big enough, and popular enough, to where he can refrain from dishing out Skip Bayless-type takes. Because God only knows we need more of that in our lives.

Either way, the Bears franchise is heading in the right direction under Poles. And once he gets his guy in Caleb Williams, the future will be even brighter.
