It doesn't matter if you're a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs or the Detroit Lions: all eyes are currently on all-star tight end Travis Kelce and whether or not he'll play on Thursday night.

Kelce hyperextended his knee earlier in the week and the official result is a bone bruise. Initially, it looked like Kelce wouldn't play the Chiefs' opener, but per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the team is taking every measure it can in order to see if he can play at some capacity.

If Kelce plays, he is simply following the standard Patrick Mahomes set back in the playoffs, which is freakishly finding a way to immediately play football after suffering an injury that usually costs players at least a game or two.

We'll provide more updates once they come through.
