The Bengals can no longer make the playoffs or reach double-digit wins on the season, but they can still impact where they pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

As things currently stand, the Bengals are 16th in the draft order, and that may change after Sunday.

Cincinnati is one of four teams with an 8-8 record through 16 games. Their .581 Strength of Schedule puts them lower the other three teams with the same exact record, and that will not change no matter how Week 18 unfolds.

If the Bengals defeat the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, their 9-8 record would bump them down to the 18th overall pick, which is the lowest placement a non-playoff team can get.

Should the Bengals lose to the Browns, an 8-9 record with their SoS could move them up to the 13th overall selection.

No matter what happens Sunday, the Bengals are locked into this range of picks, and it would be something fresh when looking at recent history.

The last time the Bengals had a first-round pick in the teens was in 2012. The Carson Palmer trade netted them the Oakland Raiders' first-round pick at 17th overall, in which the Bengals selected cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick.

The last time the Bengals earned a pick in the teens from their record alone? That would be 2007. The Bengals also selected a cornerback that year when they drafted Leon Hall 18th overall.

We've got a ways to go until we have an idea of which direction Cincinnati will take in the first round, but where they pick is looking very clear.
