CINCINNATI – The Bengals held OTAs on Monday and there was a noticeable absence in newly-acquired guard Alex Cappa.

As it turns out, he's dealing with an injury. Head coach Zac Taylor said as much Tuesday when spoke to reporters.

"He's getting evaluated for a core muscle deal," Taylor said via Cincinnati Bengals Talk. "It could keep him out a couple of weeks. But [it 's] nothing of real concern."

Taylor was then asked whether or not he thinks wide receiver Tee Higgins and EDGE Joseph Ossai will be ready in time for training camp. Higgins had labrum surgery on his left shoulder back in March and Ossai had an additional surgery on top of the one that repaired the meniscus he injured during the 2021 preseason.

"Yea, I think that's about the timeline that we're looking at," said Taylor. "You don't want to make a prediction on May 24th, but I think there's a possibility that works out for them."

Taylor also said Ossai should be ready for training camp a week ago.
