Every now and then I catch myself referring to Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow as a future Hall of Famer and I have to remind myself that he's only in his third year and such talk is a bit premature.
But then I see something about Burrow that totally blows me away and I'm sucked right back into the Hall of Fame talk.
This week provided one of those moments.
On Tuesday night, NFL Network host Peter Schrager tweeted a video of Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan talking about one of his favorite Burrow moments.
Callahan referenced a moment in Cincinnati's game against the Kansas City Chiefs last season — the matchup in the regular season — where Burrow saw something that KC was doing that he could exploit.
Burrow noticed that a Chiefs safety wasn't getting "wide enough" on a play where the pass went to Tyler Boyd. What Burrow wanted to exploit involved Ja'Marr Chase.
So Burrow told the staff to run the play again because he knew it would result in a touchdown.
And it did.
Here's Callahan breaking it down.
Burrow is just different. The way he sees the field isn't normal. So yeah, if he stays healthy, a gold jacket is in his future.
