The Cincinnati Bengals are getting ready for kickoff against the Miami Dolphins. Before the game begins, each team has released its inactive players list.

Here are the Bengals players who will not play against the Dolphins:

  • QB Jake Browning
  • TE Noah Fant
  • DT Jordan Jefferson
  • WR Charlie Jones
  • S PJ Jules
  • CB Brayln Lux
  • DE Joseph Ossai

Tee Higgins returning from second concussion

Cincinnati makes Higgins’ return official following multiple reports detailing the 26-year old wide receiver will play in Miami. Higgins cleared the concussion protocol following a visit with concussion expert Dr. Micky Collins.

The Bengals have been without Higgins for two of their last three games. He suffered a concussion against the New England Patriots in Week 12 and missed Week 13’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens. He returned to play against the Buffalo Bills Week 14, but suffered another concussion and missed Week 15’s rematch against Baltimore.

DJ Turner II is also good to go

Turner was a late addition to the injury report with an illness and was questionable to play, but he will suit up. Cincinnati elevated Lux from the practice squad in case Turner’s illness incapacitated him, but Lux will instead watch from the sidelines.

Turner has played at a Pro Bowl level this season with an NFL-best 17 passes defensed.

Expert analysis on Bengals at Dolphins Week 16 inactives

  • Fant, Jones, and Ossai were all declared out with ankle injuries Friday. Fant’s snaps will likely be taken by Tanner Hudson. Jones’ role as kickoff returner is to be filled by Ke’Shawn Williams. Ossai’s spot in the defensive line rotation will be handed to Shemar Stewart, who’s now back from the Reserve/Injured list.
  • Jules (ankle) was the lone inactive Bengal who was questionable to play. He was a full participant in practice during the week
  • B.J. Hill (ankle) was questionable with an ankle injury as well and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, but the eight-year veteran will play. Cincinnati is down to four defensive tackles following Kris Jenkins Jr.’s season-ending injury, which is why Howard Cross III was elevated from the practice squad.
