We already know the Cincinnati Bengals are in danger of losing both offensive coordinator Brian Callahan and defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo who are each receiving interest as head coaches.

On Tuesday, we learned they may be in danger of losing wide receivers coach Troy Walters, too.

CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reported on Tuesday that the Houston Texans have requested permission to interview Walters for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

Houston hired DeMeco Ryans to replace Lovie Smith as their head coach on Tuesday.

Walters has offensive coordinator experience at the collegiate level (Indiana State, UCF and Nebraska), but not in the NFL.

Still, he's generally regarded as a "rising star" among NFL coaches.

He also received a glowing endorsement from Bengals head coach Zac Taylor.

If Walters is hired by Houston, it would almost certainly mean that Taylor will have to hire at least one assistant coach from outside of the organization this offseason — unless Callahan and quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher both stay, which seems unlikely. If they both stay, then assistant wide receivers coach Brad Kragthorpe could take Walters' place on staff (Kragthorpe could also coach quarterbacks if Pitcher leaves or gets promoted to offensive coordinator if Callahan leaves).
