St. Louis Battlehawks running back Jacob Saylors, whom the Cincinnati Bengals signed as an undrafted free agent in 2023, had the best game of his professional football career this weekend.
Saylors became the second player this UFL season to eclipse 100 yards on the ground with 103 and added 19 receiving yards and a touchdown in what was a 32-17 victory for St. Louis.
Saylors had 15 carries in the game, which is two more than he had in his first two games this season combined. The Battlehawks had more total rushing yards (133) than their opponent, the Memphis Showboats, had on offense (127).
The Battlehawks' quarterback is none other than AJ McCarron, another former Bengals player.
Saylors was signed by the Bengals following the 2023 NFL Draft. He played college football at East Tennessee State, where he totaled over 2,328 yards in his final two years.
After weeks practicing with the Bengals last summer, Saylors carried the ball nine times for 27 yards during preseason action before being waived. The Bengals did not add him back to the practice squad during the season.
Should he continue to show out in the UFL, the Bengals may end up giving Saylors another chance this offseason to make the team.
