For the first time ever, the creators of the HBO Original series "Hard Knocks" will follow an entire division throughout the NFL season. They've landed on the division featuring the Cincinnati Bengals.
The AFC North will be the focus for "Hard Knocks In-Season" for 2024, meaning the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers will all be featured alongside the Bengals from the final weeks of the regular season through the postseason. The first episode won't premiere until December 3.
The traditional "Hark Knocks" follows one team throughout the duration of training camp leading up to the regular season, featuring captivating players hoping to make the 53-man roster.
This iteration of the series will chronicle the race for the AFC North, the division that produced winning records from all four of its teams last season. That hadn't happened in the NFL since 1935.
“We don’t think — we know — this is the best division in football," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said in the team's official statement. "I understand why it's an attractive pick for Hard Knocks and it's an honor to be part of a division that people think so highly of. We have an exciting team with a lot of really talented players and good team guys. They are players that the league is excited about, so this exposure is a positive."
Every part of the NFL season is now being covered by "Hard Knocks." The New York Giants will be featured in the show's offseason program, the Chicago Bears will have training camp and preseason, and the entire AFC North will have the regular season and playoffs.
With the first episode not premiering until December 3, the producers of the show will likely recap the first several weeks of the season in a quick manner before honing in on the final stretch of the season when the playoff picture comes into play.
"Hard Knocks" goes deep into players' lives and how the team interacts with one another, and to have this access for an entire season is pretty much unprecedented for Bengals fans. The only thing that comes close is last year's "From The Jungle" YouTube series.
All you need is a Max subscription by December and you'll be good to go!
The Bengals have been featured on the original Hard Knocks program twice in 2009 and 2013. They won the AFC North in both years.
