A nightmarish night for the Cincinnati Bengals ended in a 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. There's only one place to start.
Joe Burrow suffered an injury to his right wrist in the second quarter and was declared out by the second half. Head coach Zac Taylor told reporters after the game that a sprained wrist seems to be the initial diagnosis.
Burrow attempted to throw on the sideline soon after the injury, but was unable to grip the ball and spent the end of the second quarter inside M&T Bank Stadium.
There's not likely to be any more updates on Burrow from the Bengals tonight. They'll evaluate his wrist back in Cincinnati, and assess the situation during their nine-day mini-bye week.
Taylor also added this is the first he's heard of Burrow having any sort of wrist injury leading up to the game.
"That was the first I saw anything about it," Taylor said.
Deleted footage from earlier in the day showed a bizarre brace around his right hand. Burrow was not listed on the injury report, nor was any injury reported on leading up to the game.
The hits would unfortunately keep coming as defensive tackle B.J. Hill was the next player to go down. Hill appeared to suffer a non-contact lower leg injury late in the second quarter. He did not return for the remainder of the night.
Not long afterwards did cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt join them on the sideline. Taylor-Britt suffered a quad injury while in coverage for Rashod Bateman's touchdown right before halftime.
It was a gruesome night for both sidelines as the Ravens suffered multiple injuries of their own. Mark Andrews and Lamar Jackson each suffered ankle injuries, and the former might now be out for the season.
AFC North games are always a bloodbath, sometimes literally, but tonight was simply brutal for all involved.
