Despite head coach Zac Taylor's unwillingness to rule him out, national reporters are saying the same thing about Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and his shoulder injury.
The latest report comes from Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz, who says Chase is out for Saturday's Week 16 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Chase suffered a separated shoulder last Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings that took him out for the remainder of the game. After reporting a day later that Chase would have a chance to play in Week 16, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport broke news that Chase's MRI revealed he may miss at least a week and potentially more time.
Taylor labeled Chase as "day-to-day" when speaking to media members Tuesday afternoon, and confirmed that Chase would not practice that day.
As more reports of Chase's pending status are revealed, it becomes increasingly likely that the Bengals' No. 1 receiver does not play this Saturday. Chase will eventually need to practice this week to change that.
Bengals appear mostly clean in latest injury report
One player missed Tuesday’s practice, and it’s a notable one.
