Joe Burrow became the latest NFL starting quarterback to go down with a season-ending injury during the Cincinnati Bengals' loss on Thursday Night Football to the Baltimore Ravens. The news sent a shockwave throughout Cincinnati and the rest of the NFL, but some good came out of it as well.

The Joe Burrow Foundation announced Monday that nearly $9,000 in donations have poured in from Bengals fans, as well as fans from around the league, since Burrow's injury last Thursday evening.

The Joe Burrow Foundation was launched in October of 2022. Its mission is to help families who are working to overcome food insecurity and childhood mental health issues.

Such causes will always be in need of support, and they've received plenty of it during its first year of existence. Back in May, dozens of Cincinnati-area restaurants participated in its inaugural Dine for 9 event and helped raised $100,000.

The JBF isn't the only beneficiary of what transpired last week. The Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund, which took off years ago following Burrow's now famous Heisman Trophy acceptance speech, was receiving a plethora of donations from not just Bengals fans, but Kansas City Chiefs fans!

Burrow and the Chiefs have battled four times in just the past two years, with the Bengals winning three times, but this gesture proved that football rightfully comes second to real life.
