Burrow is right there with Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen for most analysts, with the former almost always taking the No. 1 spot. Burrow vs. Allen gets brought up quite a bit, as the two AFC quarterbacks who've given Mahomes the best competition in recent years.
Locked On NFL Scouting co-host and Buffalo Bills expert Joe Marino's take on the subject is one that may surprise Bengals fans, but for good reason.
The show's quarterback rankings have Burrow in the No. 2 spot, sandwiched between Mahomes in the No. 1, and Allen in the No. 3. Marino kicked off the discussion with a proper assessment of what makes Cincinnati's quarterback unique.
"Special player right? There's a calmness about him," Marino stated. "Obviously he's got great receivers and he does a great job of taking advantage of them and throwing really accurate footballs for them to go make a play on. Just really good decision-making, processing speed.
"What this guy's done since that last year at LSU until now, I mean, he's playing quarterback as good as anyone out there."
It's been a remarkable few years for Burrow, and his development from the time he was dicing up SEC defenses, to going pass-for-pass with Mahomes in back-to-back AFC title games has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Burrow was the first-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft in part by how pro-ready he was as a quarterback, and yet, his improvement in key areas has him ranked ahead of 99% of all quarterbacks in the game.
As for his friend and counterpart in Buffalo, very few know Allen's game better than Marino, who also hosts Locked On Bills. For a renowned Bills analyst to place Burrow over Allen is certainly notable.
The two quarterbacks will square off on Sunday Night Football in Week 9 of this season at Paycor Stadium, a rematch of this past season's epic AFC Divisional Round game at Buffalo, and a do-over of the Monday night matchup that got canceled due to Damar Hamlin's tragic injury.
