The Cincinnati Bengals are re-signing slot receiver and punt-returner Trent Taylor.

Per NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Taylor is returning on a one-year deal.

Taylor, a seventh-year player in 2023, was originally an undrafted free agent signee of the San Francisco 49ers back in 2017. He spent four years with the 49ers, but accrued three years due to an injury in 2019.

In May of 2021, Taylor joined the Bengals as a tryout player and stuck with the team through the offseason. He was stashed on the practice squad for most of the season until Week 15 when he debuted as a returner. He maintained that role through the remainder of the season.

Taylor returned to Cincinnati on a one-year deal in 2022 and maintained his role as a returner. He averaged 10 yards per punt return last season on 38 attempts.

The former LA Tech Bulldog also provides depth at receiver for the Bengals. He's been targeted just 13 times in two years behind the main stable of pass-catchers in Cincinnati.

Another one-year deal will keep Taylor around the team for another offseason, but expect the club to look at other options in the upcoming NFL Draft.
