The Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback room got lighter Thursday evening as Will Grier was signed to the New England Patriots' active roster from the Bengals' practice squad, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This unfortunately leaves a predicament for Cincinnati. If Joe Burrow cannot play Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, they will only have one quarterback in Jake Browning.

Will this impact what the Bengals do with Burrow? It very well might. Having only one quarterback able to play any NFL game is a dangerous proposition.

Burrow is officially day-to-day with his calf injury and was listed as a non-participant during Thursday's practice.

If Burrow cannot go, which is absolutely a possibility, the Bengals will likely sign a quarterback to the practice squad to replace the void Grier's departure created. Having a backup for Browning in that case will be necessary.

The timing could not be worse for the Bengals to have scramble for answers at the most important position. We'll see how they address their sudden lack of depth in the coming days.
