One of the biggest stories that emerged from the Cincinnati Bengals' 23-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night was the video that showed Cincy linebacker Germaine Pratt yelling in frustration on his way to the locker room.
Pratt was seen yelling that it was his last year and questioning, loudly, why Joseph Ossai hit Patrick Mahomes late (the late hit set up the Chiefs' game-winning field goal).
Here's the NSFW video:
Several hours after the game, Pratt commented on an Instagram post of the video. And he explained that he was just emotional in the moment.
"Yep ppl will post anything on social media for likes and views. I have real feelings sometimes they are raw," wrote Pratt. "If you love something as much I do sometimes things will be said in the heat of the moment. But I know what type of teammate I am. And what type of man I am. Trust me no love lost Im hurt. Remember some ppl with hate you, rate you and shake you and try to break you but I will stand tall like always."
That was a raw moment from Pratt. And judging him on those 10 seconds that we saw probably isn't fair. There's a big difference between making a comment hours after the game has been played and minutes after the final whistle blew. Emotions are obviously going to be running high just minutes after missing out on a chance to go to the Super Bowl.
I'm sure Pratt would love to have that moment back. But it's out there now and it won't be going away. And unfortunately for Pratt, the video will likely get significantly more attention than his explanation.
