Another win for the Cincinnati Bengals transpired because of an immaculate fourth quarter and overtime showing from quarterback Jake Browning. It was so impressive, that the NFL wants to make sure it was legal.
Following Cincinnati's 27-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings, Browning received a text message saying he's to be drug tested on Sunday. Browning posted the text to his Instagram story.
"Random" drug tests following standout games from NFL players are nothing new, but testing a quarterback feels pretty rare considering speed and strength aren't as integral to the position as others.
For Browning, many of his great plays came on deep passes and pass while running, which may have caught the eye of the NFL's doping team.
In his fourth-ever NFL start, Browning completed 29 of 42 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns, with a large chunk of that production coming in the final 20 minutes of the game. He led the Bengals to 24 points from the first play of the fourth quarter, to the end of overtime.
Will he test positive for performance enhancing drugs? Probably not, but we will surely find out soon enough.
