Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon has an uncertain future with the franchise, but that didn't stop him from sending a message to fans after Cincy's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.

Mixon spoke to reporters after Cincinnati's 23-20 loss to the Chiefs and delivered a reassuring message to fans.

"I feel like [if] we keep everybody together, the best you can, the best is yet to come," said Mixon. "Obviously, we fell short, but I truly feel like the best is to come for our teammates."

While this year was a missed opportunity for the Bengals, it's not like this is Cincinnati's last chance at a Super Bowl. They'll be a contender for the foreseeable future with Joe Burrow under center.

As for Mixon, there's a chance that he won't be back with the Bengals in 2023.

Cincinnati has some looming extensions to take care of (Burrow is first up) and they need as much cap space as possible for those moves.

The Bengals could save a little over $7.2 million in cap space next season by releasing Mixon.

I think they'd prefer to keep him around, but after seeing him only play 35 percent of the snaps against the Chiefs, it's certainly reasonable to think that Cincinnati could release him and spend that cash elsewhere.

There will be some tough decisions that have to be made in the coming weeks/months. The Mixon decision will be on that list.
