Bengals Injury Report: Joe Flacco’s shoulder injury gets encouraging update from Ja’Marr Chase
Chase likes what he sees from his quarterback.
The Cincinnati Bengals are just three days away from taking on the Chicago Bears in NFL Week 9, and there’s good news to be had about the home team’s quarterback situation.
Let’s check out Cincinnati’s injury report from Thursday:
Bengals Thursday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| LB Oren Burks | Groin | –/Limited | – |
| G Dylan Fairchild | Knee | Full/Full | – |
| QB Joe Flacco | Shoulder | DNP/Limited | – |
| DE Trey Hendrickson | Hip | DNP/DNP | – |
| DT B.J. Hill | NIR – Rest | –/Limited | – |
| DE Cedric Johnson* | Calf | Full/Full | – |
| G Dalton Risner | Illness | DNP/DNP | – |
| DE Cam Sample | Knee | Full/Full | – |
| LB Logan Wilson | Calf | DNP/DNP | – |
| CB Marco Wilson | Hamstring | DNP/DNP | – |
Observations
- Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) went limited after he was a non-participant Wednesday. This is a very promising sign for the 40-year old being able to play Sunday, and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase told reporters after practice he couldn’t tell that his quarterback was even hurt.
- Trey Hendrickson (hip) did not practice again. Hendrickson suffered his injury originally in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers and has only played 23 snaps since. He only practiced once last week and was able to suit up, but after re-aggravated the injury on Sunday, he’s very much up in the air for this weekend.
- Linebacker Oren Burks (groin) went limited. He wasn’t listed on Wednesday’s injury report, so the injury occurred before or during practice Thursday. LB depth is already shaky with Logan Wilson (calf) missing the last two days of practice, so recently-signed Joe Giles-Harris may be needed more than expected to back up starters Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight Jr.
- Dalton Risner (illness) and cornerback Marco Wilson (hamstring) also remain out.
