Bengals Injury Report: Joe Flacco, Trey Hendrickson start the week sidelined while Bears deal with WR problems
Big names on Cincinnati’s first injury report for Week 9.
There’s no time to waste for the Cincinnati Bengals as they look to bounce back from a backbreaking loss from Week 8. Up next is another home game against the Chicago Bears, and both teams began the week of practice without several key players.
Let’s check out Cincinnati’s injury report from Wednesday:
Bengals Wednesday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| G Dylan Fairchild | Knee | Full | – |
| QB Joe Flacco | Shoulder | DNP | – |
| DE Trey Hendrickson | Hip | DNP | – |
| DE Cedric Johnson* | Calf | Full | – |
| G Dalton Risner | Illness | DNP | – |
| DE Cam Sample | Knee | Full | – |
| LB Logan Wilson | Calf | DNP | – |
| CB Marco Wilson | Hamstring | DNP | – |
Observations
- Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) and defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip) did not practice. Flacco was already announced as a DNP prior to practice by head coach Zac Taylor, and it’s not surprise to see Hendrickson listed as a non-participant as well after he re-aggravated his injury against the New York Jets. Both players may not practice at all this week.
- Guard Dalton Risner (illness) and linebacker Logan Wilson (calf) were also non-participants. Risner got sick last weekend and was active but couldn’t play, and Wilson suffered his injury during the loss. Wilson, who was benched for rookie Barrett Carter earlier in the month, requested a trade last week.
- G Dylan Fairchild (knee) remains on the injury report despite playing last week after missing a game. DEs Cedric Johnson (calf) and Cam Sample (knee) went full, but Johnson is still technically on the Reserve/Injured list and needs to be activated.
Bears Wednesday injury report
| Player | Injury | W/T/F | Designation |
| WR Luther Burden III | Concussion | DNP | – |
| RB Roschon Johnson | Back | DNP | – |
| WR DJ Moore | Hip/Groin | DNP | – |
| WR Rome Odunze | Heel | DNP | – |
| DL Dominique Robinson | Ankle | DNP | – |
| RB D’Andre Swift | Groin | DNP | – |
| WR Olaminde Zaccheaus | Knee | DNP | – |
| TE Cole Kmet | Back | Limited | – |
| DB Tyrique Stevenson | Shoulder | Limited | – |
| LB Amen Ogbongbemiga | Knee | Full | – |
Observations
- Among the plethora of DNPs listed above are Chicago’s top three receivers. Luther Burden III (concussion), DJ Moore (hip/groin), and Rome Odunze (heel) all missed practice. Not ideal for a Bears offense that sputtered last week against a struggling Baltimore Ravens defense.
- Running back D’Andre Swift (groin) was also a DNP, but tight end Cole Kmet (back) did go limited after missing last week.
