Multiple players are in the concussion protocol and dealing with illnesses in the days leading up to Week 16's matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. Let's take a look at Wednesday's injury report for both teams.

Bengals Wednesday Injury Report

Left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (fibula), edge defender Sam Hubbard (knee), and defensive tackles Kris Jenkins Jr. (illness) and Sheldon Rankins (illness) did not practice at all Wednesday. Brown, Hubbard, and Rankins should not be expected to play this week, and Hubbard is likely out for the season. Jenkins, who's become a starter with Rankins out, is the latest Bengal to be listed with an illness.

Rankins has been out since prior to Week 11 with his illness, but Wednesday was his first appearance on the side field with trainers since being out according to ESPN's Ben Baby.

Rankins has just three weeks left to make a potential return this season, but he seems to be on track to doing that.

Quarterback Joe Burrow (wrist/knee) and wide receiver Tee Higgins (knee) had their typical limited practices, although Higgins' knee listing is new this week. Right guard Alex Cappa (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol, but practicing at all to start the week is a good sign for him to play on Sunday.

Wide receiver Charlie Jones (groin) and free safety Geno Stone (shoulder) were also limited. Jones has not played since Week 8. Left tackle Cody Ford, who missed last week's game with an illness, was a full participant Wednesday.

Browns Wednesday Injury Report

Cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. did not practice and wide receiver Cedric Tillman was limited as they're both dealing with concussions this week. Defensive tackle Shelby Harris (elbow) and tight end David Njoku (hamstring) were also DNPs Wednesday.

Cornerback Cameron Mitchell (knee) was limited and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (knee) was a full participant. Jeudy (786) is second only to Ja'Marr Chase (793) in receiving yards since Week 8.

Quarterback Jameis Winston (right shoulder) was a full participant but will not start this week. Dorian Thompson-Robinson will get the nod instead.
