The mini-bye week is over for the Cincinnati Bengals. Practice for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets has already begun, and there are notable injuries to watch for as the back-half of the week begins.

Let’s check out Cincinnati’s injury report from Wednesday:

Bengals Wednesday injury report

DE Trey HendricksonHipLimited
TE Tanner HudsonConcussionLimited
DE Cedric Johnson*CalfFull
WR Charlie JonesRibsLimited
C Matt LeeKneeLimited
DE Cam SampleKneeDNP
CB Marco WilsonHamstringDNP

Observations

  • Defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip) was limited with the injury he suffered two Sundays ago. Hendrickson was inactive last Thursday after trying to play on short rest. It would be ideal for him to go full Thursday in order for him to be good to play this Sunday.
  • Sticking at the edge group, Cam Sample (knee) did not practice on the same day Cedric Johnson (calf) practiced for the first time since training camp. Johnson has spent the entire season thus far on the Reserve/Injured list and was cleared to practice Wednesday. He could be activated later this week if Sample needs to go to I.R.
  • Cornerback Marco Wilson (hamstring) was the only other DNP for Cincinnati. Tight end Tanner Hudson (concussion) went limited as he still needs to clear the concussion protocol after entering it last week.

Observations

  • Quarterback Tyrod Taylor (knee) is the main name to watch this week as he’s day-to-day with his injury. Taylor came in for starting QB Justin Fields last week after Fields was benched by head coach Aaron Glenn. Glenn will not announce which QB will start Sunday to maintain a “competitive advantage” over Cincinnati.
  • Cornerback Sauce Gardner (concussion), who played at the University of Cincinnati, is in the concussion protocol and is one of six DNPs from Wednesday. Former Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson (knee) also did not practice.
  • Linebacker Quincy Williams (shoulder) has not yet been activated to New York’s roster but is cleared to practice.
