The Cincinnati Bengals' Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens looks to have gotten a bit easier.

According to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey underwent a medical procedure that could sideline him for the start of the season. Ian Rapoport confirmed that Humphrey suffered a foot injury, and the surgery will take him out for the "first couple games" of the season.

While Humphrey finished Baltimore's joint practice with Washington on Tuesday. He was not at practice Wednesday morning when the report surfaced.

Humphrey, a three-time Pro Bowl cornerback who was named an All-Pro in 2019, has been a consistent adversary for the Bengals during his six-year career. In his last three games against Cincinnati, he's allowed just 86 yards and zero touchdowns.

The game Bengals fans remember him for the most fondly came back in 2021, when Ja'Marr Chase dropped most of his 201 yards on Humphrey in that Week 7 blowout victory.

Humphrey is obviously a much better cornerback than that game from two years ago would indicate, and his absence will force the Ravens to adjust defensively to stop Chase and Co. when they come to Cincinnati on September 17.
